About Us
The Undergraduate Politics and Law Journal (“the UPLJ”) was founded by Briana Louro in 2022 at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey. Our mission is to offer undergraduate students across the U.S. opportunities to engage in legal and political research and intellectual dialogue. As part of the largest private university in New Jersey, with over 12,000 students and four campuses in three countries, our journal is committed to enhancing our audience’s understanding of the world through a political and legal lens. We collaborate with qualified authors, editors, and professionals within and beyond FDU, providing a space rooted in credibility, quality, inclusivity, and meaningful engagement.
Currently, the UPLJ solicits and reviews submissions for articles and blogs and plans to expand into podcasts. Accepted articles are edited to fit the journal’s style and published in our annual edition, while accepted blog submissions are posted on our website. For both aspects of the journal, authors collaborate closely with the UPLJ team to ensure the end product is high-quality, credible, and thought-provoking.
The UPLJ invites passionate undergraduates to submit their best work, join our editorial team, or engage with our published content to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on politics and law.

Editor-In-Chief
“Every perspective matters and deserves attention; I value the input of every individual. The UPLJ serves as a third place, providing undergraduate peers and me opportunities to connect and build a community. Though still developing, our thoughts are powerful!
My main goal for the journal is to contribute to producing inclusive, high-quality, credible, and engaging content. I aim to inform, inspire, and engage our audience by offering pieces rooted in our core values and writers a space to share their insights.”
